There are so many people, and companies that need professionals looking for jobs that a good skill set can go a long way in being able to land the best opportunities. The first step is to organize your resume. Organize the information so that it can be easily found and understood. Add dates of positions, educational background, and work experience. Make sure you put in every element you can think of.Second, find out what professionals are seeking. You could go to those job sites or take advantage of resumes sites that are available on the Internet. These sites have professionals posting their resumes in different fields and trying to get hired. When you find a job to which you are related, look at the career line. If there is a good match, write a short paragraph describing what you know about the environment and what you can do fo r the job. Please mention anything that is specific and easy to know about the position. This will give your information credibility. However, if there is something that you can't remember or have forgotten, just ask a direct question to whoever is looking for your resume. Get as many names as you can, and then ask them to submit your information for free. This will help get you a lot of great resumes out there.Fourth, send the best resumes to those companies that you really want to work for. This will increase your chances of getting a job, because the resume will be shown tomore people. Just make sure that you don't send out a generic environmental resume to every company you can find, because they won't really see what your skills are, and will not be able to relate to your resume. And, lastly, make sure that you keep your resume up t o date. This will allow you to get the best of the best jobs, and give you that job security that you've been looking for.

Should You Use a Resume Builder for Your Executive Resume

Should You Use a Resume Builder for Your Executive Resume Resume builders can be helpful for people who need a starting point for crafting their executive resume. However, since most resume builders are limited in what they can do, they can’t be relied on completely most of the time. Many executives use executive resume writing services in addition to an online resume builder to help give the resume a professional appearance. Here are a few points you should remember when using a resume builder for your executive resume. Resume Builders Can Be Good Starting Points These programs are great for giving your executive resume a clean and professional look. They can even make your executive bio stand out if you are having a hard time doing it yourself. A lot of executives have the hardest time getting started with the format and appearance of their resumes, so a resume builder is a great resource to use to get started. Don’t Rely on Online Resume Builders While resume builders are great starting points, they shouldn’t be totally relied on. The people who have the most success landing a job interview by using a resume builder are involved in customer service, retail, sales and similar industries. It doesn’t mean those professions aren’t important; it just means those are the most in-demand positions at any given time, so the resume builders are programmed to meet those needs. From an executive standpoint, online resume builders may not give you everything you need to properly highlight your skills and accomplishments. Professional Resume Writers Are Better Options for Executives If you’re building your resume for an executive position, your time and energy would be better spent using the best resume writing service. You can actually talk to people in order to highlight your achievements, and those people are specialized in helping people land executive jobs. Many executives will bypass the online resume builder completely, but it’s generally encouraged to do some work upfront before you talk to a service. At the very least, you should write your executive bio in your own words, so a professional can critique it and learn exactly what you’re looking for in your executive position. There’s never anything wrong with using an online resume builder, but there’s nothing like using the best resume writing service. We are always open to helping you with your resume or locating an online resume builder, so feel free to reach out to us.

Uber, Lyft, TaskRabbit, Handy Dont Sign Gig Economy Pledge

Uber, Lyft, TaskRabbit, Handy Don't Sign Gig Economy Pledge Many of today’s workers don’t work a typical job with a typical employer, but instead make money as freelance contractors for companies like Uber or TaskRabbit. Thanks to the rise of such Silicon Valley “disruptors,” it’s easy for people to pick up short- or longer-term gigs that fall short of full-time employment. But if you’re a worker in this “gig economy,” it’s likely you don’t enjoy traditional employee benefits like health insurance. In the absence of governmental solutions for this new kind of workforce, the National Domestic Workers Association has put out what it calls the “Good Work Code.” The code outlines eight pillars for treating workers properly: safety, stability and flexibility, transparency, shared prosperity, a livable wage, inclusion and input, support and connection, and growth and development. Read Next: This is What it Takes to Make $2,000 a Week Working on TaskRabbit So far Q, LeadGenius, Care, Unlimited, CareLink, SketchDeck, WorkGenius, Amara, DoorDash, VetPronto, Peers, and Sama School have all signed on. VetPronto, which has probably the most dramatic commitments improving its policies, will offer salaries to vets who book 15+ appointments per week. What’s especially notable about the Good Work Code pledge is that the largest “gig economy” companies have yet to join in. Uber, Lyft, Handy, TaskRabbit and others are nowhere to be found on this list. But maybe they should. “We’ve seen over and over again that when our employees in the field are properly motivated and incentivized the results for the brand and the business are incredible,” Dan Teran, the founder and CEO of Q, a startup that coordinates cleaning staff and other workers for offices, explains on the Good Work Code site. Accordingly, the perks of working via Q including health benefits, 401(k) plans, and even stock options. Read Next: Can We Stop Pretending the Sharing Economy Is All About Sharing? 5 Ways To Realize Your Talent Potential - Work It Daily

5 Ways To Realize Your Talent Potential - Work It Daily Talent is one of the most valuable assets that you can possess - makes sense, right? In the competitive, global workplace, almost anyone can develop skills, but talent defines your true potential â€" the internal, natural ability to do something well as you integrate your education, training, innate gifts, experiences, emotional intelligence, and purpose. Related: How To Build A Consistent Personal Brand To realize and maximize potential, the holistic approach of assessment is a key factor to define your talent and chart opportunities for it to develop. Tapping or defining your talent isn’t an instantaneous practice; it’s a life-long journey with many peaks and valleys along the way. So, how do you make the most of your talent and move forward in life? Here are a few talent boosters to consider as you move to maximize your potential: 1. Recognize Your Talent Don’t under- or over-estimate your talent. The book, Untapped Talent: Unleashing the Power of the Hidden Workforce, shares an important exercise (on page 9) to assess your talent and potential. Take the time to examine what has made you successful in the past and what your career aspirations are for the future. With this process, you will be able to identify the points when your talent hasn’t been tapped. This familiarity with your talent allows you to make critical career decisions, such as selecting the right next position or graciously turning down a seemingly good job offer while outlining steps to encourage growth and movement in your career. Another key factor is to identify your strengths so that you can be confident about what specific talents will support your career trajectory. 2. Identify What Talent Makes You Unique A talent that makes you stand out from the crowd because your skill and expertise can be considered a great asset. Do you speak a second or third language? Have you lived in several countries, or studied multiple disciplines? Companies are searching for people with new and interesting perspectives and life experiences to solve complex business challenges. Showcase your unique style and talent. Dare to be great! 3. Nurture And Develop Your Talent All of us start off with raw talent that needs to be shaped and developed. It’s our responsibility to nurture and grow our talent, while positioning ourselves for success. To develop your talent, it is great to look for work assignments or volunteer opportunities that add depth to your skill base, value to your professional life, and exposure for your career. The key to success is applying your talents in different situations and changing your work environment to broaden your perspective. Again, developing your talent means staying in touch with your passion and building on your interests to add value in your profession and career. 4. Express Your Talent Self-expression is the key to growing your talent. Talent is like learning a fine instrument that you want to play well. You must practice, practice, and practice to be proficient at playing your instrument and learning how to play it for many audiences in different settings as a way to understand the full potential of the instrument. The more you exercise your talent, the more talents that you will discover you can use as well as the new places, situations, and people that can use your skills. In many instances, we limit our talent from reaching its full potential because we assume people are not interested in what we have to say or offer. You can plan to get involved with organizations and people who are interested in the talents that you bring to the table. 5. Organize A Personal Board Of Directors That Focus On Your Talent This group of people is invested in you personally and professionally. They provide support and guidance that unleash the hidden areas of your talent. Select board members who can see in you what you can’t see in yourself. Their role is to carefully nudge, recommend, confront, and embrace your growth. They can assist with you “Tapping Your Talent!” This post was originally published on an earlier date.
