Dress for Success 5 Fabulous Shoes for the Career Girl

Dress for Success 5 Fabulous Shoes for the Career Girl Todays guest post is from Gaby at the Working Girls Shoe Closet.    Gaby is  on a quest to help every working girl find stylish shoes to maximize fashion and practicality. Her blog  is an easy reference site to help you find fashionable shoes that are professional, comfortable and  practical.   Thanks Gaby for helping us working girls look great and feel great! I was so excited to be approached by the Classy Career Girl to do a guest post. In thinking about all the amazing advice and suggestions she has given us, I came up with five fabulous and  stylish shoes that are work appropriate. My first pick was inspired by the cooler, winter weather, and the fact that in Southern California, we hardly get to wear our boots. But when we do,  huney, we make sure to be fierce in them. So when I came up on these delicious Elke Platform Boots by Martinez Valero,   I knew I had to share them with you. These exude classic sophistication that make any work outfit that much more polished. The clean lines make it timeless and the 4” heel make it sexy secretary. ?? There is a ½â€ platform included in that 4” so that your feet have some extra shock absorption so that you can rock them all day long. They also have a 15” width to help accommodate those of us with more athletic calves. BONUS! Being eco-conscious, I always look to my (so far) favorite vegan brand of shoes, Beyond Skin for some great shoes. The Hattie is just so prim and proper it makes me want to break out my argyle sweaters and pencil skirts. Finding vegan heels is not only nearly impossible but finding COMFORTABLE ones is like scoring cashmere at Barneys for under $100. Beyond Skin is Natalie Portman’s brainchild to bring fashionable shoes that are not just vegan and sustainable but comfortable as well. They have padded soles and extra cushion to ensure comfort with that 4” heel. Being made of a faux suede and patent leather, these are so versatile you can also wear them with your favorite jeans or cord mini with tights. I found these adorable Biviel black pumps to be a great twist on the classic pump.  Biviel is one of my newest obsessions. They are a Spanish brand, yes just like Martinez Valero, but hey those Spaniards know how to make a comfy shoe! ?? They truly marry comfort with fashion in a modern vintage way. Every time I look through their shoes, I just start mentally matching them up with all the adorable clothes in the Anthropologie catalogue. These have a 3 ½â€ heel with a ½â€ platform included making them easy to wear for your marathon work days. The funkyness of these pumps gives some fashion-forwardness to your straight forward business suit without looking too far out on the edge. No classy career girl’s wardrobe is complete without a wedge  and leopard print. And leave it to the fabulous Tory Burch to bring us the goods! The Sophie Leopard Print wedge is uber chic. I see endless wardrobe options for these shoes, and if you don’t have them in your closet now, these shoes are so to die for, you will use them as the excuse to shop for new outfits… and no, there’s nothing wrong with that. ?? The Sophie has a 4” heel but if you want a lower option, there is the Sally where you get the same fabulousness but with a 2 ½â€ heel instead. Both come with the iconic Tory Burch golden emblem on the front and a rubber sole on the shoe for non-slippage on those pesky marble office floors. Last, but definitely not least, is one of my top contenders for best flats of all time. It’s the Janine Driver 4 by Elie Tahari. These flats are so comfortable that you pretty much forget you’re wearing shoes at all. They have this genius designed sole that is “broken” for lack of a better description. It allows for much more flexibility when walking, making it one of those shoes that you can literally wear all day for like a week straight and not get tired  of wearing them. The design itself is so very flattering for just about every foot. It is an elongated shape that mirrors that of a pointed toe flat but doesn’t go all the way with a point, just a great tapered toe. You avoid the “big boat feet” look entirely. The bow and hardware detailing make it very grown up and dress up your Casual Friday outfit without making you look like slouch. All priced under $250, these shoe options are guaranteed to not only keep you in the black this holiday season, but also to be stylishly comfortable like every classy career girl should be.   For more shoe obsessions, check out The Working Girl’s Shoe Closet.
